Craniosacral Therapy is a light touch therapy with profound “big gun” results. It works with your body’s central nervous system and uses the pulse of the cranial rhythm throughout the body allowing adjustments to occur. Lisa D’Angelo sees your body and how it functions as a whole, not as broken separate pieces. It is important as a therapist to understand how the body is connected via all its different neurons, tissues, bones, muscles, cells, lymph, etc. Lisa also examines and works with any emotional components the body is holding onto. Think of it like connecting dots on a cellular, tissue, and muscular level. A session can recharge the central nervous system, release muscular tensions, reverse old holding patterns. All of this can lead to an elimination of chronic pain and strengthen your immune health. Craniosacral Therapy will also relax you to the core while offering overall health and resistance to disease. Lisa’s treatment goals are designed to holistically treat each individual.
Lisa has been helping families for over a decade.
During pregnancy CST can help prepare mom for an optimal labor and birth by releasing restrictions in the pelvis and easing back and hip pain. This can promote optimal fetal positioning and may ease the need and/or recovery from any necessary invasive procedures. Lisa has found her prenatal and newborn appointments are a sacred journey that transforms the bond between baby and expected mother and caregivers.
Pediatric Craniosacral therapy begins at birth and extends to age 9, at which point the delicate bones of the skull have developed. Prior to this, special techniques are used. Parents and children can expect a relaxed environment filled with anything from comfortable nursing pillows to toys for the older kiddos. All clients are met where they are at, which is especially important to respect when clients are non verbal. Working with children reinforces that there are so many other ways to listen.
Lisa is especially proud of her sessions that cater to whole family dynamics and has been honored to participate in family care clinics throughout the state of Texas.
I know it can be hard to get out of the house with a newborn which is why I offer at home visits for babies under 3 months old.
Older children benefit from Craniosacral therapy too for the following: headaches, learning challenges, growing pains, emotional difficulties, earaches, dental and orthodontic treatments, & sleep disorders.
I started practicing CST back in 2004, but my journey began a decade before when I had a series of small strokes and a bad fall. My first Craniosacral treatment literally changed my life. My personal experience has propelled me to learn about holistic ways we can boost our immune systems, fight inflammation, reduce stress, and recover from musculoskeletal dysfunctions. I am passionate about acknowledging the mind body connection in all of my work and I am thrilled to be on your journey of self care, to feel better, and give you an extra boost, or the missing ingredient, towards your healthier self. I am honored to be a teaching assistant for the Upledger Institute for both their lower level and advanced courses.
