Why CST and MLD Therapy?
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) is a light touch therapy with profound “big gun” results. Its focus is largely with the craniosacral system (CSS), which consists of the membranes and fluids that surround the brain and spinal cord. The CSS has the ability to influence every other system in the body, such as the musculoskeletal, neurological, immune, digestive, endocrine, etc. Gentle palpation of the CSS allows for the detection and release of core issues so that the treatment focuses on the cause of the dysfunction rather than just the symptoms.
Lisa D’Angelo sees your body and how it functions as a whole, not as broken separate pieces. It is important for a therapist to understand how the body is connected via all its different neurons, tissues, bones, muscles, cells and….LYMPH!
The lymphatic system plays a critical role in maintaining our overall health by filtering out harmful substances like bacteria, viruses, and other toxins from the body. The purpose of manual lymph drainage (MLD) is to produce a gentle rhythmic pumping movement that will stimulate the lymph to remove toxins, reduce swelling and inflammation while boosting the entire immune system. MLD is not only critical in the care of autoimmune disease, pre/post surgical healing or for eliminating toxicity but for brain fog, sinusitis and so much more.
Lisa also incorporates techniques to address the fascia (connective tissue) throughout the body and how it relates to both the CSS and lymphatic systems. In a session she will acknowledge and work with any emotional components the body might be holding onto. She approaches a treatment like she is connecting dots on a cellular, tissue, muscular and fluid level.
Expect a session to recharge the central nervous system, release muscular tensions, reverse old holding patterns and remove toxins from your body. Treatments can lead to the management or elimination of chronic pain and strengthen immune health.
Both CST and MLD will unruffle you to the core while offering overall health and resistance to disease. Lisa’s treatment goals are designed to holistically treat each individual.
